About
As a visual storyteller, my work is designed to share intimacy through imagery. Photography, video and web design are the tools I use to reveal and communicate experience. Living in the Bay Area has put me at the epicenter of numerous social justice movements. I felt destined to document history—specifically, the struggles of oppressed groups that find their voice and power through protest. I wanted to capture heartfelt moments of these movements—the humanity, the speeches, the families, the heartbreak—and the collective power of pride overcoming the shame of oppression. I started the blog look2remember.com to document these events.
Professionally, I worked as a Senior Digital Producer for KQED Public Media in San Francisco for 17 years where I initially redesigned the KQED.org website and ultimately created and produced the food blog, Bay Area Bites (2005-2018). I photographed public events for KQED News; music festivals for KQED Arts; restaurant profiles and guides, television and online video productions, holiday and seasonal step-by-step recipes, and food festivals and events for KQED Food. I designed and maintained websites for public television shows (thirteen seasons of Check, Please! Bay Area and seven of Jacques Pepin‘s TV series) and initiated and grew social media accounts for KQED Food.
